Meet Jackson DiVincenzo

The return of Transatlantic Storytelling is officially underway as 16 Ball State students have been selected to participate in the second iteration of the award-winning project with Cardiff Met University in Cardiff, Wales.

The highlight of the project will be a 12-day cultural immersion trip to Wales in late February and early March 2024. While on the ground, students will collaborate with their peers in the Cardiff Met Sport Broadcast course to produce feature stories, live sporting events, studio shows and podcasts.

Jackson DiVincenzo (Junior)

I am thrilled with the opportunity to participate in the Transatlantic Storytelling 2024 trip because of the idea of working on such a high scale project with classmates that I consider to be family. I can’t wait to get started, as we are all so passionate about what we do and I feel that will be evident in the end product.

I am a junior here at Ball State originally from Cleveland, OH. At school I am involved in the Honors College, the Association of Collegiate A Cappella as the Public Relations officer, and of course Sports Link.

Within the program, I place a strong emphasis on what I have deemed the “Core Four.” These are pillars of which I classify myself as a content creator and they include the following: Videography, Photography, Editing, and Storytelling.

Outside of school, I am the Lead Content Creator for the Mid-American Conference. Within that role, I am responsible for directing creative shoots, editing various hype videos, leading teams of creators, conducting athlete interviews, etc.

Additionally, I recently started a role as a videographer and editor for Munciana Volleyball. This is a local youth organization in Muncie filled with current and aspiring Division 1 Athletes. Finally, in the past I worked for the Ball State Football team for two years as a videographer.

Beyond work and school I enjoy singing in my a cappella group, working out consistently, going to concerts, browsing tiktok for hours, and playing the nintendo wii. Yes, that’s right. I can beat anybody in a mario kart race if given the opportunity!

My ultimate goal and vision for this journey is to create a documentary with my peers that moves those who watch it. I want to make a difference not only in the hearts of my peers, but the athletes whom we are working with. Ultimately, I want to craft something that lives on for years to come and something that leaves a lasting impression.
